- Activities – Many of the best things in Idaho are free, like the views. There are fantastic hiking trails, bicycling trails and lots of other options which won’t break the bank. Places like:
- Priest Lake – Climb the rocks, swim in the lake, hunt for mushrooms or visit the amazing natural water slides – all for free. Who needs fancy water parks when it’s all part of the natural beauty of Idaho?
- State Parks – There are some really fantastic state parks in Idaho, and very often for a small entry fee you can enjoy a wonderful location to boat, fish, hike, camp or just take a picnic. The fresh air comes for free too.
- Museums – Many of the cities have museums which are absolutely free of charge, or some may charge a small entrance fee. These can be a great place to stop and find out about the marvelous history and culture of Idaho without spending a fortune.
- View stops – When you’re traveling through Idaho it’s important that you take your time and make the most of every single photo opportunity. There are loads of view stops along the highways so use them, get your camera out and start snapping. Seeing really is believing in Idaho.
- Leave the kids with Granny – Okay, this might not make you very popular but you’ll save a small fortune on soda pops and ice cream.
- Go on your own – You’ll be even less popular but one person can eat much cheaper than two, of course, you won’t have anybody to talk to but you can take plenty of photos to share when you get home – if they let you in.
